At Centre Stage we are passionate about the performing arts and its positive impact on children

We love to see our students come together forming new lasting friendships, have a real sense of belonging and feel very proud to be part of the Centre Stage family.

As children blossom & grow their positive energy and confidence will flow out into the wider community.

For us as teachers it is truely magical to watch their faces light up as they hear a new song to learn, when the accomplish the new steps of a dance or bring together all the elements of a play they have just created.

We encourage our students to use their imagination & creativity in our ‘free style acting’ section during each class. It is amazing to watch their young minds at work as they put together a short piece by delving into their imagination and having fun.

This section of the class always blows us away.

Meet the Team

Miss Kirstie Pickerill

Director Centre Stage Musical Theatre

Kirstie’s love of Musical Theatre has always been bordering on obsessive. Her first ever role was as a ‘Snow Flake” at the tender age of 4. From an incredibly young age she has been involved in many dance modalities as well as singing and acting.

Kirstie came to Australia almost 20 years ago where she instantly fell in love with QLD.  Her professional training started with Exercise to Music in England where this launched a 10 year career in a leading private health chain as a manager. Her role focused on teaching a wide range of dance and exercise classes, running kids-clubs, training staff, teaching first aid classes.  As well as being part of the display team for promotional events and adverts. She was also involved in new club start-ups and writing programmes for the centres kids clubs. Kirstie also studied theatrical make up as part course in England a skill she has honed and utilised over many years.

Kirstie first became involved in Centre Stage 8 years ago when she enrolled her (Then shy) preppie to help with confidence. Her passion and commitment to volunteering at Centre Stage led to her becoming a key member of the Team and a master of costumes, props, theatrical make up and glitter. Kirstie took the became the lead teacher of Centre Stage in May 2019 and went on to take over the company in January 2020.

Kirstie teaches, nurtures, motivates and brings out the best in all students through her enthusiasm and energetic approach to teaching.

Kirstie is extremely excited to take the Centre Stage students on a magical journey using song, dance, acting and a whole lot of fun.

“There is NO such thing as too much glitter”
